INGREDIENTS

  • 16 dates (pitted)

  • 8 slices of bacon, halved slices

  • Toothpicks

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut bacon slices in half.

  2. If you bought pitted dates, open up the date (you will find a small slit where the pit was removed). If the dates have pits, make a small slit on the long side and remove pit.

  3. Fill with goat cheese (if desired).

  4. Wrap the half bacon slice around the date and insert a toothpick on top to keep it together.

  5. Light Pit Barrel® according to instructions.

  6. Place in middle of Pit Barrel® on oven safe dish or cast iron skillet.

  7. Cook until golden and crisp starts to develop, about 30min.

  8. Serve and enjoy.
