For serious low & slow BBQ, Commodities NZ Premium Charcoal Logs are hard to beat. Made from 100% natural, sustainably sourced hardwood sawdust, they’re compressed using heat with no additives or fillers, then carbonised to create an incredibly dense, long-burning BBQ fuel.
The unique hexagonal shape and centre hole promote excellent airflow, producing strong, consistent heat with an impressive 4–6 hour burn time. They burn virtually smokeless, odourless and spark-free, leaving very little ash behind. Ideal when you want a clean, predictable fire for a long cook.
Charcoal Logs are best lit in conjunction with lump charcoal or briquettes rather than used as your initial lighting fuel. Once established, they’re excellent for maintaining steady heat in offsets, bullet smokers, drums, kettles and other charcoal BBQs. Add your favourite smoking wood chunks to introduce the flavour profile you want.
They can even be extinguished and relit for another cook if they haven’t completely burned through.
